Barro Branco (meaning ‘white clay’) was once a small and prosperous mining area. Less than a hundred years ago there were hundreds of houses and shops there; it functioned as a support base for thousands of miners who worked in the nearby hills.
Morro do Pai Inácio
The view from Pai Inácio is one of the most famous postcards of the Chapada Diamantina. At a height of 250m, it has a magical 360 degree view of its ‘neighbours’: Morro do Camelo, Morrão, the Capão Valley and the beautiful green hills (below). Full of mysteries and legends, it is the perfect setting to end the day and enjoy the mystical sunset.
